So we have a Brand new President WOYEE WOYEE Peter Muntharika!!!! I’m not going to go into the all the hoo haa about vote rigging or whether the result is fair or not, I am just hoping that President Muntharika will focus on the Tourism Industry as a money maker for our beautiful WARM HEART OF AFRICA. Malawi is beautiful!!! I was In Mangochi this time last year, and Lake Malawi is world class. It’s as an amazing a destination as the French Riviera or the Caribbean. Google voted Malawi one of the happiest places in the world in 2013, fast forward to 2014, CNN has endorsed it as a friendly, easy and safe place to visit. Malawi was even featured in VOGUE as an upcoming honeymoon destination and made it into travel guide, Lonely Planet’s Top Ten Places to Visit in 2014. Lake Malawi is the crown jewel of the nation. I swam, snorkeled and kayaked in the fresh and clear water. It really is my idea of heaven on earth and if Malawi is a destination you would like to look into, have thought of visiting but don’t know where to start then check out this site…www.malawitourism.com

Lynne, you are SO right about tourism in Malawi. The country is stunningly beautiful, with the Lake the highlight; and the wildlife numbers are growing, making Malawi the BEST place in Africa to combine lake, landscape and safaris in a wonderful, unspoilt and compact destination. And yet for all these wealth of natural attractions, it’s always the amazing the warmth of welcome from the Malawians themselves that people bring back as their most treasured memories. Visit now – nobody comes back disappointed!
Malawi has sooo much to offer and I think the attention on the country needs to move away from “the country where Madonna adopted her baby” to as you rightly put it a World Class tourist destination. Malawi really deserves a chance to show case all the warmth and beauty it possesses and it is due a blessing, as Malawians we just need to claim that blessing.
Let us hope that Peter Mutharika is the man to bring about some necessary change, because it is about time. I am excited for Malawi as an up and coming tourist destination, but I hope that the core values of the people are not overly compromised.
I couldn’t agree more and I really hope Peter Muntharika puts some money into promoting Malawian’s tourist industry. I am no tourism expert but I know what is beautiful and MALAWI is certainly beautiful. I am hoping to visit again this year for Lake of stars as never been to the festival and I hear it’s amazing.
