This Malawian got a call from etailPR who wanted me to create a look for Cheltenham Ladies Day on the 11th March for #ColourMeMarch. So what is #ColourMeMarch? Well, let me break it down…Cheltenham Races want to bring a bit of colour to the festival so they are holding a social media competition which gives a chance to girls across the UK to win a selection of prizes from a luxury hotel stay to cool prizes from clothing company, AX Paris and a chance to win 160 pounds worth of tickets to this year’s event. All you have to do is create a look you would personally wear to the Cheltenham Ladies Day event, take pictures or produce a collage of the look and upload the outfit via twitter using the hashtag #ColourMeMarch before 1:50pm on Ladies Day on 11th March.
I am of Malawian heritage and really wanted to build my outfit based on the Malawian flag but my wardrobe was a bit lacking kwaa. I decided instead to use the Brazilian Flag for inspiration. I chose this figure hugging yellow Zara dress to add a bit of femininity to Ladies Day. I chose my vibrant and colourful Topshop coat paired with blue New Look shoes. I decided to take the pictures in front of some colourful backdrops…a graffiti wall and the Portobello Road Market to give the pictures a pretty but vibrant setting. I’m so happy to get involved with this event as it was fun to do. If you intend to go to Cheltenham Ladies Day please comment below and let me know what you are going to wear. Also, if you’ve never heard of the event and would like to know more, please head to www.festival15.co.uk for more information. Now have yourselves a great week and have fun as you colouryourselfmarch.
